Turnbull and Downer deny calling for PM to quit
Liberal Party members have spent this morning hosing down speculation about a mounting leadership challenge to Prime Minister John Howard.
Sky News has reported that Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer and Environment Minister Malcolm Turnbull do not believe Mr Howard is the best option to lead the party into the election.
Both ministers have rejected that, pointing to their public comments in support of Mr Howard.
Malcolm Important, didn't you mean "I come to praise him"? Those bloody Freudian slips'll get you every time!
